Alfons Johann

Alfons Johann was taken
prisoner in May, 1943 in Tunisia. He arrived in America and was sent
to the Bena, Minnesota Branch Camp where he worked in the forest cutting
lumber.
Following his time in America, Johann also worked in Great
Britain and in camps in occupied Germany. He did not return to his
home until 1947, where he found work with the German Railway as a switch
master.
Below is an account of the Johann family's responses to life
in Nazi Germany.
